" I used the Gingerbread man/person recipe and told the story of God making Adam. I found this was great fun and also encouraged the children to talk about their differences."
- Using one batch of Dough I explained how God formed Adam from the dust of the Earth and how we are all made from the same matter, just as the Gingerbread character is made from the same batch of dough.
- Then as the children cut the Gingerbread character out with a small cutter and added the currents again I explained how we are all made the same way no matter what colour or ethnic group we come from.
- Once the Gingerbread characters are baked, unless you are an expert baker, I defy anyone to find two Gingerbread characters exactly the same, especially if the children have cut them out, thus I explain to them how even if we are made the same way from the same stuff we are also unique and special.
