Esther Song
Thanks to a Keri for sending this in!
To the tune "Go Tell it on the Mountain". Actions in blue!
I wrote this when our lesson was about Esther. It could also be used for Purim. It's fairly simple and gets the key ideas of the story across.
Esther was made queen
(put hands on head to
form a crown)
When King Xerxes ruled the land
(bend arm and extend, like
scepter)
But her people were in trouble
(put hands on cheeks,
raise eyebrows, like "oh no")
Because of Haman's
plan
(rub hands together, wrinkle
eyebrows, to be "evil")
Go, tell it to the king
(walk fingers on arm; on
"king", bend arm and extend, like scepter)
Esther
showed she was very brave
(form crown for
"Esther"; show muscles on "brave")
Go, tell it to
the king
(walk fingers on arm; on
"king", bend arm and extend, like scepter)
That's
how the Jews were saved.
(big smile while
clapping hands)
