DLTK's Bible Stories for Children
Flowers, Trust, and God's Care for Us

by Leanne Guenther

Today, I want to share a wonderful story with you about trusting God and how He takes care of us and the beautiful world He created. But first, let's imagine we are in a lovely garden filled with colorful flowers, green leaves, and the sweet smell of nature. Can you see it in your mind? It's truly amazing how God created such beauty all around us!

The Garden of Trust:

beautiful gardenOne sunny day, a group of children went on an adventure in a beautiful garden. They were amazed by the colorful flowers, tall trees, and friendly animals they encountered. As they walked, they noticed that all the flowers were so different and unique, just like them.

In the garden, they met a wise gardener who took care of the plants and flowers. The gardener told the children a story about how God cares for each one of them, just like He cares for the flowers in the garden.

The wise gardener told the children that Jesus once spoke about the flowers in a teaching called the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus said in Matthew 6:28-29:

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."

The wise gardener explained that Jesus was teaching the people that they don't need to have fear over their needs because God takes care of even the smallest details in nature, like the flowers. If God cares so much about the flowers, imagine how much more He cares about each one of us!

The children listened carefully to the wise gardener's story and started to understand that they could trust God to provide for all their needs. Just like the flowers in the garden, they didn't need to worry or be afraid because God was always with them, taking care of them.

As they continued exploring the garden, they found a beautiful spot to sit and talk about what they learned. They realized that when they trusted in God, they could be sure that He would give them everything they needed, whether it was food, clothes, or the love and care of their family and friends.

Before leaving the garden, the children decided to pick some flowers to press and keep as a reminder of their adventure. As they carefully picked the flowers, they remembered the wise gardener's story and were grateful for the beautiful world God had created.

They knew that each time they looked at their pressed flowers, they would remember how much God loves them, takes care of them, and provides for all of their needs. And they promised to be thankful for the beauty around them and to always trust in God's care.

Conclusion:

So, just like the children in the story, let's always remember to trust in God's care for us and appreciate the beautiful world He has created. And as we press flowers today, let's be thankful for the amazing love and care God shows us every day.
